Nobody knows this better than Rose Elliot, who has been able to carve out a succesful market niche in the USA with her online store at Ladybead.com.
“This week I had $3,000 in orders within two days (using ShopFactory cart software) from my website”, she recently wrote to us.
Rose lives with her husband near Los Angeles in California in the US and specializes in Barefoot and Bridal Wedding Jewelry Accessories. Her success was helped by reaching top position in Google after switching to ShopFactory.
Looking back, switching to ShopFactory wasn’t an easy decision for Rose. She started beading as a hobby, and had already turned it into a small business. While she wasn’t happy with her website or the complexity of maintaining it, she was already having sales.
“When I switched my site over to Shop Factory I was nervous at first as I had an established site,” she remembers. "I was concerned that I would lose my ranking in Google. In fact Google indexed my site more deeply than before.”
Her concerns proved to be unfounded. ShopFactory created a website which was far more search engine friendly, and as a result Ladybead.com quickly boosted its position in search results.
Within a short time frame she even reached the number one spot for “foot jewelry”, one of her main search terms. Rather than losing sales, her "sales actually improved almost immediately," she says.
The fact that ShopFactory is easier to use than other solutions she looked at, is also a big bonus in her view.
“We are a small family run business,” she says. “My husband and I both work on the computer. Even he uses ShopFactory with ease, which is saying a lot as he is a Painter by day. This is first shopping cart he is prepared to work with, the others that we tried before were a hassle.”
Of course if you look at her website it quickly becomes clear that ShopFactory is only a small part of Rose’s success story. It allows her to spend less time working on her website and more time focusing on her business.
“The customer is king”, she says. So she tries to ship orders right away, or lets customers know when she expects to ship their items.
To encourage repeat customers she uses discount vouchers, one of the many functions and services supported by ShopFactory. But Rose has added a great twist of her own to make repeat purchases even more likely.
“I work hard to be sure my customers will be happy with their purchase. When a person places an order they get a coupon code for 10% off their next purchase. I also include a business card with each order which has the discount offer written on it – so customers will keep my business card.”
Her hard work is certainly paying off – and when you look at her website you can see how she is using the time she saves with ShopFactory to grow her business.
Rose has set up a Facebook website, is actively twittering and runs a blog to look after and to attract new customers.
Oh, and of course, she is also still making her jewelry.
